Tranquility is known for providing unique experiences for its guests, but this unexpected 2 foot long ‘guest’ will never be topped!
Beau Soleil May 2015 testimonial by Hanna as posted on VRBO 29/5/15
My husband, 7 year old son and I just spent 8 days at Beau Soleil and loved every second. The villa itself is set up perfectly for a family with children or two couples. The master bedroom opens up onto a deck with seating and a dining table, and has gorgeous sweeping views of Silly Creek and the ocean.
The pictures really don’t do justice to how strikingly beautiful it is. The plunge pool was the perfect size for our son to splash around in, and stone steps lead down to a small beach area on the creek, which is a perfect place to watch the sunset. We took the kayaks out to explore some of the nearby cays.
The villa is tastefully decorated with a nice beach house feel, which we loved. We did opt to use the air conditioning and were amazed at how comfortable we were with it set to 77 degrees! The ceiling fans keep the air circulating and the temperature very pleasant.
I’ve seen others comment on needing bug spray and we did bring some, but didn’t end up using it – this may depend on the season. I ended up with two mosquito bites and my son got one. As long as we avoided sitting outside for long periods of time right at dawn or dusk it wasn’t a problem.
We had an unexpected adventure when an iguana wandered onto the property one day as we sat out on the patio. This was a pretty big deal as Turks & Caicos Rock Iguanas are critically endangered and none have been tagged on Provo in the 20 years they’ve been tracked. Basia and Gail were incredibly responsive and contacted the island vet, who sent a team of researchers from the states the next morning. (Told you it was a big deal!) We actually got to watch them capture, tag, and release the iguana. It was unbelievably cool.
It was great being in the Chalk Sound area, and no matter what anyone tells you, the beaches on this side of the island are better than Grace Bay. We spent multiple lazy days at Sapodilla Bay and Taylor Bay and the conditions couldn’t have been better: minimal surf and shallow turquoise water stretching out for hundreds of yards ensured safe swimming conditions for our son, and many island visitors seem to have a hard time finding both beaches so they’re very private. We loved being able to explore the island without needing to immerse ourselves in the more commercial feel of the Grace Bay area, and the electric blue water of Chalk Sound is unlike anything you’ll ever see again. Fantastic place. We’re already trying to figure out when we can make a return visit!
