The Golf Course

Known for its natural, rugged layout through limestone outcroppings, Provo Golf Club combines a great test of golf with the natural flora and fauna of the island. Fairways are lined throughout with native island bush, combining with inland lakes and numerous palm trees to compliment the beautifully maintained playing surfaces. There is also an abundance of birdlife, with the lakes home to an array of colorful native birds including egrets, various types of heron and waterfowl, and migratory flamingoes.

Since 1992 this challenging layout has been enjoyed by club members and resort golfers alike, and attracts many return visitors to tackle the unique ‘target-style’ course. In happy contrast to the rest of the island golfers are pleased to find a relaxing green oasis, with an almost constant island breeze to keep them cool. The front nine features water on six holes and winds its way through areas set aside for the development of Country Club-style villas, while the back nine features a further four ‘lake holes’ and a generally tight set up, none more so than the notorious par five 12th.
Off the black tees the championship layout of 6,705 yards is highly regarded, with a slope rating of 136.The course is owned and was developed by the HAB Group, which is also the developer of The Regent Grand, Villa Renaissance, The Regent Village and the forthcoming The Vellagio. HAB Group also own Turks and Caicos Water Company, producer of the island’s potable water, and as a result Provo Golf Club has a ready made source of irrigation water.

Facilities

The club’s facilities are also excellent, offering a fully stocked pro-shop, club rental, a driving range, chipping area, putting green and tennis courts. In the clubhouse you will find the pro-shop and the beautifully designed club bar and lounge, in addition to the renowned Fairways Bar and Grill providing probably the best breakfast and lunch menu on the island, in addition to fine dining in the evening.

Pro Shop

Our pro-shop can supply you with everything you’ll need for a round of golf while on Provo, including sets of premium Nike clubs for rental. There are logoed shirts, shorts and gloves, and plenty of balls are available just in case you need a few after the front nine!Popular clothing lines stocked include Nike, Polo Ralph Lauren, Adidas, EP Pro (ladies only) and Antigua. Golf shoes are also available for sale.
Please note that all golfers are required to check into the Pro Shop prior to their round. And don’t forget to turn up early enough to visit the famous Fairways Bar and Grill for some pre-round food. Fairways serves one of the best breakfasts on Provo and has a fantastic lunch menu!
A new Pro Shop, situated adjacent to The Clubhouse, is planned for 2007. This will provide a larger shop area, integrated management offices and an expanded rental and member’s bag storage area.

The Clubhouse

The Clubhouse is one of Provo’s signature buildings. Designed by island architects, SWA Ltd, it follows a Colonial style true to the heritage of the region and provides a great environment in which to chat over the highs and lows of your round.

The building was constructed in 1992 when the island was a very different place, making it one of the more ‘historic’ buildings on Provo! The Pro Shop and Fairways Bar and Grill are on the spectacular upper level, with locker rooms and bag storage below. The vaulted ceiling is adorned with golf course flags from around the world, which provide an interesting diversion while enjoying a drink at the bar.Views out to the terrace are prominent from anywhere inside the main Clubhouse bar area, through 8ft high french windows, leading to the terrace. The bar/restaurant terrace itself overlooks both practice putting and chipping areas, plus the 10th tee, 18th fairway and 18th green.A central part of many member’s and golf club resident’s social life, The Clubhouse also plays host to various island parties and functions, including its own Christmas Party for members and guests.
