Provo Ponies and Beach Horseback Riding in Turks & Caicos

Provo Ponies is a small horseback riding stable located on the southeast end of the island of

Providenciales, offering two guided horseback rides Monday through Friday.

Saturdays are reserved for teaching and Sundays are the horses day off.

The morning ride is at 9:30 am and the afternoon ride at 3:00 pm during winter hours, 4:00 pm

during the summer. They can take all experience levels from 6 years old and up.

There is an extra charge if someone must be led.  Everyone rides their own horse or pony, no double

riding. There is, however, a 200(ish) pound weight limit.

Groups are never more than 12 riders.

Private horseback rides are available for an additional fee. Helmets are available and are required for

children 17 and under.

You will ride  horses and ponies along quiet dirt roads and trails to Long Bay Beach, a 4 mile long

secluded beach. These are not nose to tail type rides. More experienced riders are given the

chance to trot or canter if conditions allow it (see chart below to determine your level of experience).

Please note that while the horses are not cantered at high tide when the sand on the waters edge is deep,

the shallow waters of the Caicos Banks off Long Bay Beach make it an ideal place to take your horse

into the ocean.

You can book a one hour ride for $75 per person or a 90 minute ride for $90 per person.

Provo Ponies can arrange transportation (if from a hotel or resort) for an additional 10$ per person

round trip.

They recommend wearing long pants and full shoes (sports bras for the ladies and briefs for the men may

make your ride more comfortable too!!)

Cameras are welcome and they provide fanny packs and will take pictures for you once  at the beach.

Reservations are required. A Visa or Mastercard number is necessary for all reservations, as well as

weights and experience levels of all riders in your group so that they can properly assign horses to riders.

The cancellation policy is 50% if you cancel the day before, and 100% if you cancel the day of the ride.

This does not apply if you have a medical emergency or if the ride is cancelled due to bad weather.

Before each ride, they brief groups on safety, adjust equipment and give basic one on one riding instruction

in the arena so that all riders are comfortable and in control before heading out on the trail.

Please allow 2-3 hours for the whole excursion from the time you arrive to the time you return to your hotel or Villa.
