Below are the original documents needed to be produced in person.
- Passport & Birth Certificate
- Proof of Status – If single a sworn affidavit is required. If one of the parties is a divorcee, then proof of Decree Absolute is required, either the original or a notarized copy, sealed by the Clerk of the Court. In the case of a Widow/Widower the Death Certificate of the previous spouse is required.
- Letter stating both parties occupations, marital status, age as of last birthday, present address of residence and fathers full name.
- You need to also provide photocopies of all original documents to be submitted with your forms. All copies of documents need to be certified by a notary (as the birth certificate copies, divorce paper copies, passport copies, etc.) Also provide a picture ID with the birth paper (passport / or drivers license).
You must reside in the Turks and Caicos Islands 24 hours before applying for a marriage license. There is a period of 2 – 3 days to obtain the license. The application for the Turks and Caicos Marriage License must be made by a Marriage Officer. This is usually a pastor or minister that has a government license to perform marriage ceremonies. In addition, the marriage must be performed by a Marriage Officer.
